Juan is a seasoned licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional boasting over 25 years of comprehensive industry experience. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he acquired a "Learn by Doing" ethos. His early career flourished during his tenure with Milford Wayne Donaldson, a renowned leader in historic preservation, where he honed his technical knowlege by delving into material systems and firsthand observations of material failures. Notably, Juan played a pivotal role in the renovation of several esteemed buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the San Diego County Administration Center and the Balboa Park Organ Pavilion.

Following this, Juan dedicated 22 years to RJC Architects | Steinberg Hart, serving in key roles such as project manager and DQC Manager. He made significant contributions to prominent civic and military projects, notably overseeing the development of multi-building complexes like the County of San Diego’s County Operations Center and the Naval Base Coronado, Coastal Campus.

In 2023 Juan started Silva Architecture with a focus on creating functional and dynamic spaces that serve the public good.
